The Processor in your Amiga also counts for a lot too, as it isused to drive the
data transfer as fast as it can.
For comparison, I have an 040/25, and a friend of mine has 060/50, our systems
are very much the same (aside form the PPC I have & he doesnt) and I get arount
4.5MB/s transfer rate, he gets around 8-9MB/s.

The speed of the drive can also make a difference... what PIO mode is it set to?
